What is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (cosmetic acupuncture)?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has been known as a part from the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for thousands years. Since Song Dynasty (960AD – 1270AD), the Empress and Empreor’s concubines experienced Acupuncture for their rejuvenation based on “TCM theory through promoting qi and blood”. The principle of this oriental ancient therapy is involving the insertion of hair-thin needles into specific points of the face, neck, ears, hands, trunk and legs on the particular meridians (energy channels) to stimulate circulation and eradicate any nutritional problems. The experienced practitioners know how to chose the points according to the individual’s needs after a consultation.
How does it work?
Acupuncture follows the traditional concept of Chinese philosophy of yin and yang. Acupuncture stimulates the meridians that supply nutrition to the face. It works on improving a person’s appearance, it also improves people’s health and wellbeing in a safe and natural way. Over time, acupuncture encourage collagen regeneration, prolong tightening, lifting jawline and eyelids, tighten pores and muscles, improve puffiness of the face. The results are more convincing than any surgery or Botox, no overdone looking, but just the non-surgical facelift appearance.
What is the course of treatment?
After 12 treatments, the skin is smoother, less lined, firmer and more radiant (after 2 treatments, results usually be seen as more energy is directed to the face). It depends on individual lifestyle and condition prior to the treatment. It is often recommended to supplement with exercise program and special facial self-massage, herbal and/or nutritional supplements together with a healthy diet and lifestyle.
