The Chinese have been doing this since ancient times by using heat inside glass or bamboo cups. The vacuum inside the cups causes the blood to form in the area and help the healing in that area.
Cupping therapy is mainly performed on one’s back along the Meridians. It also can be performed on any part of the body. One of the aspects of cupping therapy is to release of toxins in the body. The suction from the cups can penetrate deep into the tissues causing the tissues to release harmful toxins. This stimulates the lymphatic system, promotes free flow for the Qi and Blood in the channels.
Cupping therapy has been found in ancient records dating back 3500 years and it is still commonly used today. It is an essential part of the TCM.
